This is a vital time for all of us trying to protect our children by raising awareness of the need to remove the last form of tobacco advertising - glamorous, glitzy and appealing packaging.
Anne Milton called for a consultation that 'is real and meaningful and that the public know we value their input' and so it is great to see that over 78,000 people have made clear their support for plain packs. In these last few weeks every voice counts in showing the Government that there is broad and popular support. Feedback has been coming in from non-smokers, ex-smokers, and smokers who don't want their kids and grandkids to start. When people see glossy packs close up - the penny drops.
The Plain Packs Protect Partnership is asking for one last effort from everyone who feels as passionately as we do that plain packs will play a significant role in reducing the number of children who try, and take up, smoking each year. Please make colleagues, friends and family aware that there is only a limited time for them to have their voice heard at www.plainpacksprotect.co.uk before the consultation closes on July 10th.
